GM STC aims to utilize the latest training technology to effectively support the complex and emerging training requirements for dealership service personnel and implement training techniques providing performance-based, flexible delivery methods with the ultimate goal of enhancing the GM service technician's ability to "Fix it right the first time."
GM STC uses a blended media approach and high-quality instructional design to improve the service technician's knowledge and minimize time spent away from the dealership. The customer benefits from knowing the technician has the background and experience to repair vehicles right the first time.
GM STC offers a range of flexible delivery methods. This strategy better supports service technician training, which reaches more than 4,000 GM dealer locations nationwide.
The blended learning media mix includes Web-Based Training, Online Instrctor-Led, Video On Demand, interactive Video, Hands-On Training, Performance Support Objects (PSO), Diagnostic Exercises (DE), GM TechTubes, and Boot Camps. GM STC works with service technicians, dealers and other personnel to determine the best blend of these resources when developing the curriculum.
By providing in-dealership training, GM STC increases the number of trained technicians and improves their product knowledge and repair and diagnostic skills.
